The African elephant is today the largest terrestrial animal, it can measure up to 4m high and weigh around 7 tons. It lives mainly in sub-Saharan Africa but also in the north of South Africa. This mammal is easily recognizable by its long ivory tusks, which alone can weigh up to 100kg, and its trunk, which it uses to feed itself. Unlike its cousin, the Asian elephant, it has larger ears, less hair and a more rounded back. The species is now in decline due to poaching but also the progressive destruction of its habitat.
A great gift idea for curious children, fans of large format and collectible figurines, and collectors of Papo figurines.
